Last year we attended many basketball games, the circus, a comedy club, a cabaret show, and various Broadway and Off-Broadway shows. Even if you’re visiting for a week, it’s worth joining. Check daily and continuously; but usually after 1:00 pm. If you find what you’re looking for, buy it right away because events can sell out in minutes. You will have a larger selection of off-Broadway theater most of the time, but the items show up all the time!

Theater Development Fund
Pay a $30 annual fee and get logged in to a wide range of great Broadway, Off-Broadway, Off-Broadway concerts, dance recitals, etc. The capture? You must be a full-time student, full-time teacher, union member, retiree, civil service employee, non-profit organization staff member, performing arts professional, or member of the military or clergy. Broadway shows are around $30 depending on the show and there is usually a good selection. Is it worth the investment. I have been a member for years and have seen many great successes with this discount group.

You can use Ticketmaster to buy theater tickets for almost any show, but especially when you’ve gotten coupons for discounts. I prefer to go to the offer box to avoid fees, but sometimes you have no choice. You can also use your membership card to get a discount through Ticketmaster!
TKTS discount booth
The Theater Development Fund offers 3 discount box offices for tickets for the day of the performance only. You’ll save 20-50% on each ticket; usually 50%. You’ll find a great selection of discount Broadway (and off-Broadway) theater tickets at these booths. Arrive early at the cabins. The lines are long but they move very fast. And… I’ve put some really nice people on these lines!

Pay an annual fee of $99 and receive access to a wide variety of free shows including Broadway, Off-Broadway, museums, comedy clubs, music, sporting events, etc. Pay a service charge of $4 per ticket. This group offers a wide variety of off Broadway, sometimes Broadway, comedy, sports, similar to Play-by-Play. However, it offers items that go beyond Play-by-Play, such as gourmet and wine events, Met baseball tickets, and more. Certainly well worth the price.
