Not all closed doors are also locked

“Not all closed doors are closed… some are closed due to the weather.” Thapelo Jonas

It is often said that only two things are certain in life, death and taxes. However, another thing that qualifies to be placed in that category is ‘knocking on the door’. Every person has to knock on at least one door in her life, whether it’s when he looks for a job, acquires capital to start his business, or even when he gets a scholarship to study at university. It is an unavoidable reality; everyone is forced to knock on certain doors to get ahead in life.

But guess that? Many of us are paralyzed with fear when we have to knock on some of these important doors. The big question is why?

It’s a song you’ll hear on many people’s lips, “no job, been trying to apply for years…” And this hymn, in my two-cent opinion, isn’t 100 percent accurate.

First, the advent of the Internet has exposed people to online job applications, people can sit behind their chairs and send their resume or business proposal via email and finally close five days later. that the position was filled.

And yes, technology has given us convenience and speed to speed up these processes, but it’s the passive approach that it instills that shouldn’t replace the action-oriented approach our predecessors had.

We should adopt that attitude that says “If you don’t respond to my request or proposal, I will physically go and knock on your doors.”

The truth is; There’s an employer looking for someone with his talents, skills, and personality, yet they won’t always tell by the four-page document that lands in their inbox.

It is always action that separates the extraordinary from the ordinary.

But taking steps isn’t always easy for some of us…so where do you start to develop this action-oriented approach?

#1. Develop your speaking and writing skills

When applying for a job opening or securing capital for your business, you must first realize that you are selling a product called YOU. And the sales success of that product depends on the power of persuasion you have.

Practice how you’ll use the words when asked to describe why the prospective employer or investor should hire you or finance your business, often called an elevator pitch.

Create sales copy that includes a YOU product.

# 2. Brand yourself

There’s an old adage that goes, “You don’t get second chances to make a first impression.” Many people ignore the importance of the image. Everyone you meet has perceptions about you; You can’t afford to let people mark you. Dress for success, look at the role and in no time you will be the role.

#3. Develop a positive self-talk

It is important to know that our words have the ability to create our reality. Eventually you become the product of your words, so if you continually tell yourself, “I’m the best, I’ll make it, and I’m destined for greatness…” Eventually you will become what you profess.

And finally…

# 4. Take action

Even if it’s just because they’re upset about the hit, someone will always open the door for you.
