Silly rope and its many uses

The silly rope is one of many irresistible party items that can add immensely to any event due to its effect on people, making them eager to unleash their mischievous childishness while unleashing their silly rope on everyone else. It has many uses in the party environment, its versatility is limited only by the ingenuity of the user.

The most obvious and universal use of dumb rope is as a party enhancer, allowing partygoers to show their excitement like a stream of dumb rope. Since it is available in almost all colors, you can customize the event with the color of string you use. For a birthday party, you can use the birthday person’s birthstone color or their favorite color. For a wedding using silly rope, either in place of or in conjunction with rice, you can use white and whatever the wedding color is. For your average holidays, you can use whatever the colors of those holidays are, such as red and green for Christmas, black and orange for Halloween, red, pink and white for Valentine’s, etc.

The silly rope is also useful for setting themes, such as for a Halloween party. Use gray, white, or black spray in sporadic circular motions at the corners to give a cobweb-like feel. Or instead, provide a can for all party participants and host a contest to see who can form the best and most credible web in the shortest amount of time. You may want to set a short time limit. You could also have writing contests in the air (or in the snow, if available) just like you would with a sparkler on the 4th of July.

If you are preparing an obstacle course for older children or adults, you can also incorporate a silly rope. Give each team a can and ask them to use the spray to test the firing chains. If your rope falls to the ground it is safe to walk through it, if you are suspended in the air you will know not to trip. You might consider using something clear, like fishing line for your travel ropes, so that players really need to use the silly rope to avoid tripping. This type of activity would be perfect to incorporate into a party for little army enthusiasts. Set up a small obstacle course and show the kids how to use the rope to detect firing lines so they can safely penetrate enemy lines.
