1Z0-146: Oracle Database 11g: Advanced PL/SQL is the last of the three exams required to complete the development path to certification as Certified Professional Oracle Advanced PL/SQL Developer. This test is intended for Oracle PL/SQL Associate certified candidates who wish to upgrade their credentials to professional-level certification. Developers who passed one of the two PL/SQL Foundation exams, either 1Z0-147 or 1Z0-144, demonstrated that they know the basics of the PL/SQL language. In contrast, the Advanced PL/SQL exam contains questions on development tools and techniques that require a significantly higher level of experience. Many of the tested items are in areas that PL/SQL developers with years of experience may never have used. The preparation required for this exam can enhance the skills of even people who have worked extensively with PL/SQL. Passing this exam will not instantly turn someone just starting out with Oracle into an expert PL/SQL developer. The only thing that will do that is write. a lot However, preparing for this exam can help most PL/SQL developers increase their understanding of its capabilities. Having that knowledge can drastically shorten the time it takes to become an expert.
When preparing for this exam, or any Oracle certification exam, your first step should always be to visit the Oracle Education website. There is a list available for each Oracle exam that contains all the topics that will be covered. This provides candidates with a ready-made checklist to guide their study efforts. Without it, there is no way to determine where to focus your preparation efforts. Oracle exams will never contain any questions outside of those listed. The Advanced PL/SQL exam will have sixty-eight multiple choice or multiple response questions and will take 90 minutes to complete. The passing score is sixty-five percent. For multiple choice questions there is no partial credit; questions are correct or incorrect. Any questions left blank will count as incorrect. You must answer all of them, even if you just choose your favorite letter, because otherwise the question counts against your score.
There is no single item on the Advanced PL/SQL exam that stands out as a ‘must focus’ area. The exam has a relatively small number of subject areas to which the topics are added and each has roughly equal focus. When preparing for the exam, you should give each topic the same importance and concentrate your efforts only on what is necessary to learn the ones that are more difficult for you to understand. From an experienced developer point of view, I can tell you that I find collections extremely useful and performance is always a factor. It may be worth paying more attention to these areas simply from the point of view of their usefulness. after the proof. You may never have a development requirement for fine-grained access control, but you’ll always want to write PL/SQL that runs as fast as possible.
I always recommend the use of Oracle manuals to candidates who are studying for Oracle certification tests. There are three reasons for this. First, the documentation is very good. Second, all manuals can be downloaded for free. Third, the information in the manuals is final: the information they contain is from which the tests were developed.
