Osun Osogbo and generational curses

This year’s Osun Osogbo festival has just ended. The annual ritual that began in 1370 is the celebration of the river goddess Osun; whom the citizens of Osogbo claim that she has faithfully upheld her pact with her ancestors. The celebration is a two-week program that includes rituals, costumes, and other social and traditional activities. Worshipers believe that this goddess gives them peace, children, protection, healing, etc. Since then, the festival has grown into a mega event that attracts visitors from different parts of the world. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has also listed the Osun Grove as a World Heritage Site. The festival takes place in the last week of August and begins with the clearing of the traditional paths and ends with a young virgin of the royal family leading an often noisy procession to the shrine in the grove of Osun, carrying the gourd Osun’s shrine containing the articles. to worship the river goddess.

Now a river goddess is a mermaid; a feminine spirit that lives and operates from the water, river, sea, etc. The male counterpart is called a newt. In liberation jargon, we refer to these as sea spirits or ‘mama de agua’. However, I don’t want to pretend that we can fully discuss the activities of these spirits here, but there are some basic things that we should know right away before continuing our discussion. The mermaid and merman spirits are demonic entities. Demons are evil, wicked, unclean, filthy, and satanic spirits. And like other evil spirits, they passionately hate human beings and detest man having any relationship with Almighty God.

These spirits that are part of the principalities, powers and rulers of the kingdom of darkness are at different levels of authority and have two basic objectives. One is to wreak havoc directly on man and they do this through possession, affliction, inflicting disease, disappointment, madness, infertility, backwardness, curses, premature death, depression, suicide, failure, unexplained marital problems through the operation of the ‘spiritual husbands’. and the wives, Ogbanje, Abiku, etc., on the people. We always minister to the victims of these demons in deliverance sessions. Sometimes they cause accidents in our roads, waters and air, and they also initiate terrible, bloody and dangerous sacrifices to sustain pacts with them. Most of the mysterious disappearances of people and ritual murders can always be attributed to the activities of these demons and their worshippers. They periodically demand human and blood sacrifices. TRUE!

So his other goal (which is the latter) is to divert the man’s attention away from Almighty God; the creator of heaven and earth. And they do it subtly and systematically by pretending to love, care, protect and provide for man. These can be seen in the people who get their wealth, protection, influence, business empires, promotions, positions, etc., from these sources. I have personally known these people; some looking for an escape route. Or have you not also heard satanic musicians claiming that they got their inspiration from the spirits of water or from Satan? Yes you can get some of these things from there. Have you forgotten that the Devil promised Jesus the world and all the glory if he would bow down and worship him? In truth, so many have bowed to these demon spirits and actually got some of these temporary things in exchange for their souls and peace, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that those things came from the Devil; whose ultimate goal is to deceive, steal, kill and destroy. And I hope you know by now that there is no free gift from Satan. I have clarified in my books.

Now, what will make an individual, a community or a state continue to worship these demon spirits, mermaids, mermen, goddesses or any other idol in this modern age and with the rapid spread of the gospel? And should idolatry always be linked to the promotion of culture and tourism in this part of the world? Why are our governments and corporate bodies promoting idolatry (and nudity in the case of some beauty pageants) and other satanic activities instead of channeling those resources towards pious and developmental projects? Are all traditions and cultures the ones we must preserve? Why would he continue to find this kind of large cult following for a demon in a country that is reputed to have the largest church, the largest Christian gathering, and some of the most powerful men of God in the world today? Is Osun State actually named after this female demon principality?

Where were the believers when the choice of this name was made or are they part of its worshippers? Can it still be changed? What influence does this spirit have on the citizens and the affairs of the state? What effect will these powerful rituals and sacrifices have on the lives of those innocent young virgins who are forced to carry the dreaded gourd of Osun and lead the procession to the mermaid sanctuary at each grand finale of this ritual? Do the worshipers of this mermaid in Osogbo know that they are in the worship of idols that will not stop bringing God’s punishment and strong generational curses upon their land, children and children children? We will continue next week. God bless you!
