television today

If you asked 5 different people to define ‘television’, you might get 10 different answers. For some television is entertainment, for others television is NEWS. Others think of television in terms of sports. For others, television is a closed-circuit system used for internal communications, and for many more, television is home video and personal history.

Of course, television is all of these things and more.

But however you respond or however it is produced and broadcast, all television has one thing in common:

It is used to communicate messages and ideas to a viewing audience.

To use it most effectively, you’ll need to learn a lot of television and video production skills. But you also have to be a creative storyteller who knows how to communicate well with the audience.

It requires a team of aesthetically sensitive and technically skilled people. Today, television has become a central part of this world culture. Almost everyone has access to a television.

Therefore, advertiser campaigns have increased dramatically in the last 30 years. Also, TV is not only displayed on your home TV, but you can watch millions of videos, movies, shows and programs on the world wide web.

The Internet gives you unlimited access to any type of home entertainment. Businesses and organizations use the world wide web to project their commercials, advertisements and corporate videos online because they have recognized the potential that comes with it.

But also the average person uses online video by posting their home videos on YouTube, Vimeo or other websites (just to name a view). Today’s century is all about visual content in any form, at any time and for everyone. No one can escape the influence and power of 21st century ‘television’. Should we define ‘television’ as new? What it is for you? What if today? And where will it be 10, 20, or 30 years from now? 3D and Focus movies are emerging as well, but we already had them many years ago.

With new technology, 3D can be produced faster, more efficiently, and more realistically than ever before. Some of the big brand TV manufacturers have recently announced that new technology is coming to the market.

So, will we see ‘television’ in a few years only in 3D? That is even more powerful and would occupy us with even more realistic and ever-changing images and content. Televisions are also getting bigger and have tripled in sixteen over the years. Almost everyone can try a 32-inch and larger TV.

Today’s mobile phones can connect to the Internet and people watch all kinds of ‘TV’ on their way to work. The future clearly holds more and more video, film and television and it will be the major part of our daily lives…or is it already here?
